Plot Synopsis

Designer Karen Sealy travels to summer homes -- places where family and friends spend quality time together on weekends or for extended vacations -- and redesigns or transforms these cottages to create inviting spaces for eating, relaxing, sleeping and just enjoying the view. Sometimes Karen is faced with a small bunk house that she completely redesigns to fit the needs of a growing family. Other times, she tears down walls to create bright and airy rooms from cramped quarters, while giving the home better flow. When she's lucky, she just has to give a complete makeover so the cottage joins the current decade. HGTV aired the U.S. premiere of SUMMER HOME on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 3:30pm ET.
