Plot Synopsis

Two camera crews follow Dave Paladino, the owner of Landmark Group which manages over 1700 units of low-income apartments in Omaha, Nebraska, as he goes about his business of being a landlord, a manager, a security guard, a plumber, a carpenter, a psychologist, a social worker, and a best friend. And Paladino has done it all -- everything from hunting down ghosts to tracking escaped potbelly pigs and from unclogging python-stuffed toilets to busting a family prostitution ring. In the first few episodes of this series, The Super: investigates the source of a strange smell and finds a family of hoarders who he tries to help before the health department evicts them; tries to convince a tenant to drop her bullying boyfriend who doesn't pay the bills so she can avoid being thrown on the streets; and chases out transients who were using his apartment laundry rooms as bathrooms. In the early 1990s, Palladino returned to Nebraska to become Vice President of a small real estate firm, which he purchased in 1994 and renamed as Landmark Group, a firm that now specializes in property management, renovation, maintenance, leasing and brokerage of single-family investment homes. To help with maintenance issues, Landmark has developed a maintenance organization of over 30 technicians that can handle every imaginable household issue. Plus, as a 2000 graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Center for Real Estate, Palladino has a master's degree in real estate development that helps him plan, manage and expand Landmark's holdings. HDNet aired a sneak peek of the series by showing the entire first episode at 1am ET on late Thursday night (Oct. 6, 2011) / early Friday morning (Oct. 7, 2011), and then presented the same episode as the official series premiere on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 9pm ET.
