Plot Synopsis

Based on Mike Isaac's 2019 book of the same name, SUPER PUMPED: THE BATTLE FOR UBER is a drama series that tells the story of one of Silicon Valley's most successful and most destructive unicorns, Uber. The series pivots on Travis Kalanick, Uber's hard-charging CEO who was ultimately ousted in a boardroom coup, and his sometimes tumultuous relationship with his mentor Bill Gurley, the plainspoken, brilliant Texan venture capitalist who bets his sterling reputation on Uber's success -- and then has to live with the consequences. SUPER PUMPED depicts the roller-coaster ride of the upstart transportation company, embodying the highs and lows of Silicon Valley. Even amid the radical upheaval generated within the global tech capital, Uber stands out as both a marvel and a cautionary tale, featuring internal and external battles that ripple with unpredictable consequences. On Sunday, April 10, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT, Showtime premiered "Same Last Name," the finale of SUPER PUMPED: THE BATTLE FOR UBER. Gurley and his backers present Travis with an ultimatum that will change the course of the company forever. Travis searches the city for supporters to rally in his defense. The two men go head-to-head in a final, last-ditch battle for Uber.
