Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Darnell Ferguson, SUPERCHEF GRUDGE MATCH is a one-hour competition series that settles long-standing personal and professional feuds in one-round, one-dish winner-takes-all heavyweight battles. In each episode, Darnell stages two different battles between chefs who have beefs with each other to finally bury the hatchet and win $10,000 cash, a prized knife from the losing chef, and lifelong bragging rights over their food foe. From food competition rivalries and business partner squabbles to mentor vs. protege grudges, sparks fly in and out of the kitchen.

On Sunday, February 5, 2023 at 9pm ET/PT, Food Network debuted a sneak-peek episode of SUPERCHEF GRUDGE MATCH, immediately following the Season 25 finale of WORST COOKS IN AMERICA, which also featured Darnell. In "Salt in the Wound," Darnell welcomes two matchups of superstar chefs to settle their deeply personal feuds. In match one, Chef Chris Oh seeks vengeance for a Koreatown cook-off loss to Chef Wes Lieberher, and the stakes get amped up when the loser promises to get a tattoo of the winner's name! In the second match, sparks fly when Chef Robyn Almodovar comes to teach some respect to her old protege Chef Zack Roth, who she says refuses to give her credit for launching his career. In the end, the Grudge Match victors walk out with a $10,000 cash prize, a special knife from the losing chefs' knife roll and bragging rights for life!

Two days later -- on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 9pm -- Food Network presented the official series debut of SUPERCHEF GRUDGE MATCH. In the series premiere, Darnell welcomes Chefs Antonia Lofaso and Jet Tila to settle their Tournament of Champions rivalry - the two were tied in every category, until Jet won a rematch in the finale by one point. Since she has historically come out on top, Antonia is determined to restore order in the universe -- while Jet is ready to defend his win. Then it's mentor vs. protege as restaurateur Brian Malarkey takes on Chef Carlos Anthony. Brian and Carlos have opened ten restaurants together and Carlos is tired of pulling all the culinary weight while Brian gets the recognition -- but does he have what it takes to step out of the shadows and win the spotlight. Upcoming episodes include a culinary commentator clash between Justin Warner and Simon Majumdar, an Iron Chef Gauntlet rivalry reunion with Stephanie Izard and Shota Nakajima and a dispute over social media is settled between San Diego's Drew Bent and Claudia Sandoval.

Season 2 of SUPERCHEF GRUDGE MATCH premiered on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at 9pm ET/PT on Food Network. In each one-hour episode, host Darnell Ferguson continues to stage two different battles between chefs who have beefs with each other to finally bury the hatchet and win $10,000 cash, a prized knife from the losing chef and lifelong bragging rights over their food foe. From best friends turned professional rivals to a culinary couple's husband vs. wife battle, conflicts are settled once and for all.

In the season premiere, "Surf-and-Turf Wars," Darnell welcomes four culinary masters to the center ring to settle long-standing turf wars and personal hometown rivalries. In the first match, acclaimed Chef Matt Klum calls out his former boss and restaurateur Chef Dana Downs to prove she made a huge mistake letting him go ten years ago. In the second match, the renowned Chef Danny Wilson challenges Food Network Star runner-up Jay Ducote in a head-to-head battle to prove, once and for all, who is the real deal when it comes to Southern cuisine. In the end, judges Catherine McCord and Justin Sutherland choose who will leave the arena with a $10,000 cash prize, a special knife from the losing chef and, most importantly, lifelong bragging rights. Upcoming battles include a match between Southern California chefs Brian Malarkey and Antonia Lofaso, who takes the challenge on with two broken fingers and a little help from AEW stars Willow Nightingale and Jade Cargill and Chef Tia Raiford going against her husband cookbook author Matthew Raiford to see who gets top billing at home.
