Plot Synopsis

A young man becomes host to a legendary infernal sword and, with the fate of humanity now in his arm, wields its demonic power against his enemies. When the cursed sword, Shiryu, reawakens, it takes hold of young Gai's body, creating a human weapon that's predetermined to fulfill one destiny: to kill. The story opens with Shoshidai, an organization tasked with collecting cursed weaponry, dispatching two of its agents to retrieve the legendary Demon Sword Zsoltgewinn. Meanwhile, an abandoned baby boy is adopted and named Gai by swordsmith Amon. He becomes an apprentice, later losing his arm in a ritual gone horribly wrong. After acquiring the Azoth Sword, Miki is ambushed by Marcus and Miura. Amon forges a prosthetic arm out of the sword Shiryu to replace Gai's lost limb. With his soul possessed by a demonic spear, Tatsumi transforms into a monstrous entity called a Busoma. Miki takes Marcus to Shoshidai headquarters. On Friday, March 23, 2018 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Netflix released the entire 12-episode first season of SWORD GAI.
