Plot Synopsis

TAKEPART LIVE is a five-night-a-week talk show tailored to the tastes of Millenials. In the first season, hosted by Jacob Soboroff and Cara Santa Maria, TAKEPART LIVE invited celebs, activists, politicos and newsmakers to "discuss and decode the events that make up the fabric of daily life." Viewers helped choose the content for each program by participating in a live-streamed pre-show at pivot.tv and TakePart.com. This series debuted at midnight on Thursday, August 1, 2013, the same day that Pivot launched as a new cable channel.

When TAKEPART LIVE returned for its second season on Monday, May 12, 2014, the series moved to primetime at 10pm ET with a new look. For Season 2, Jacob Soboroff was joined by two new hosts -- Meghan McCain and Eddie Huang -- and TAKEPART LIVE aired four weeknights (Mon-Thu) with a highlights show on Friday. Plus, Embassy Row, the production company responsible for WATCH WHAT HAPPENS LIVE and TALKING DEAD, introduced new segments like: "No Offense," where Megan takes to task the hypocritical actions of celebrities, politicians and other newsmakers; stories where Jacob dives into stories concerning civil rights and how they can be eroded without us even knowing it; and spots with Eddie examining what it means to be a conscious consumer. Baratunde Thurston joined Jacob and Meghan as co-hosts, announced by Participant Media's television network Pivot on October 8, 2014.
