Plot Synopsis

TATTOO AGE is a half-hour documentary series that profiles some of the world's best tattoo artists, who discuss their craft, lives and careers, while revealing a portion of the story of modern tattooing. Featured tattoo artists include: Dan Santoro, Mike Rubendall, Grime, Troy Denning, Freddy Corbin, Valerie Vargas, Thom deVita, and more. TATTOO AGE is web series that premiered in short-form on July 2, 2011, and then made its television debut in long-form on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT on Viceland. As a web series, the story of a single tattooer was told over multiple short episodes, while the television series wove these webisodes into one 30-minute program.
On Friday, May 5, 2017 from 9-10pm ET/PT, Viceland premiered the season finale of TATTOO AGE. The one-hour season ender, "New York City Tattoo Legend: Thom DeVita," includes interviews with Ed Hardy and others to tell Thom DeVita's story, because there isn't much information out there about the icon, who began tattooing in the mid 60s in New York City's Lower East Side when it was illegal. Then the episode focuses on the touching and often hilarious relationship Thom has with the artist Nick Bubash, and finally takes a look at Thom's personal history and how he came into tattooing.
