Plot Synopsis

Executive produced by Alex Gibney, TIGER is a two-part documentary that chronicles the rise, fall, and epic comeback of global icon Tiger Woods. This two-parter uses never-before-seen footage, as well as interviews with those who know the golfer best, including his former caddy and close friend, Steve Williams; golf legend and six-time major champion Sir Nick Faldo; Earl Woods' friend and biographer, Pete McDaniel; Tiger's first true love, Dina Parr; as well as Rachel Uchitel, the woman at the center of the sex scandal that forever altered Tiger's world, breaking her silence with her first-ever sit-down interview about their relationship. TIGER was originally scheduled to debut on consecutive Sundays in December 2020 (December 13 & 20) on HBO, but the cable channel delayed the doc for three weeks, with TIGER ultimately premiering at 9pm ET/PT on consecutive Sundays in January 2021 (January 10 & 17).

Part 1 (Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 9-10:30pm): Spanning Tiger Woods' earliest days handling a club to his unforgettable performance at the 2006 British Open, Part 1 highlights the golfer's unparalleled rise to fame and his complicated relationship with his father Earl Woods. As Tiger evolves into both a sports and cultural phenomenon, the significance of his place in history--as the first superstar golfer of color in a traditionally white sport--is undeniable.

Part 2 (Sunday, January 17, 2021 from 9-10:40pm): Despite ever more staggering expectations, Tiger maintains his competitive dominance, while secretly navigating a double life. At the center of that double life is Tiger's ex-mistress, Rachel Uchitel, who breaks her silence in the film about the affair that forever altered the golfer's world. Meanwhile, just as the scandal begins to fade, Tiger's body begins to betray him, and leads to a battle with prescription drug abuse. But in 2018, he mounts one more comeback, with epic results.
