Plot Synopsis

Taped in front of a live studio audience, THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JIMMY FALLON returned to its NYC origins, as host Jimmy Fallon took the reigns from Jay Leno. Fallon continued the typical TONIGHT SHOW format -- opening monologue followed by celebrity interviews -- but added his own popular segments from LATE NIGHT, including games with celebrities, musical parodies, buzzworthy sketches, #Hashtags, Thank You Notes and Slow Jam the News. Plus, The Roots continued to serve as Fallon's house band. On Monday, February 3, 2014, Jimmy Fallon was a guest on THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO in NBC's Burbank studios, as these legendary hosts passed the baton. Two weeks later, THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JIMMY FALLON debuted on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Midnight, immediately following coverage of the Winter Olympics, with Will Smith and musical guest U2 for the first night. THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JIMMY FALLON kicked off the fall 2015 season with a September 8-11 lineup full of musical superstars as well as a certain presidential candidate making a few headlines these days. Donald Trump, who is currently leading the Republican field in the presidential race, will sit down with Fallon and discuss his campaign and other issues of the day on Friday, September 11. Frequent Fallon collaborator Justin Timberlake makes his return to the show on Wednesday, September 9, his first visit to Fallon's TONIGHT SHOW since premiere week. On the same evening Ellen DeGeneres and musical guest Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are scheduled to appear and the show will simultaneously be displayed at 11:35pm ET on a huge digital billboard in the heart of Times Square (Broadway between 45th & 46th streets) in midtown Manhattan.
On Monday April 15, 2019 at 11:35pm ET/PT on NBC, THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JIMMY FALLON is ready to turn back time with a special, first-time Broadway takeover telecast dedicated to all things Cher, one of the pop culture icons of our generation and the only artist ever to have a #1 single on a Billboard chart for six consecutive decades (1960s-2010s). The show will feature Cher as well as the stars of the Broadway musical "The Cher Show" -- Stephanie J. Block, Teal Wicks and Micaela Diamond for an hour of talk, music and fun. In addition to chatting with Fallon and with the three women who portray her on stage, Cher will perform "Turn Back Time" with Block and "You Haven't Seen the Last of Me" with Block, Wicks and Diamond. "The Cher Show," a new bio musical featuring a book by Tony Award winner Rick Elice and directed by Tony nominee Jason Moore, is currently playing on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre. The show stars Tony nominee Stephanie J. Block, Teal Wicks and Micaela Diamond (in her Broadway debut) in the role of the iconic singer and actress at various times in her life and career. They are joined by Tony nominee Jarrod Spector as Sonny Bono, Tony nominee Michael Berresse as Bob Mackie, Michael Campayno as Rob Camilletti, Matthew Hydzik as Gregg Allman and Tony nominee Emily Skinner as Georgia Holt. "The Cher Show" is produced by Cher, Flody Suarez and four-time Tony winner Jeffrey Seller.
