Plot Synopsis

After six rounds of fan voting and over 130 million votes, Matte Babel, Elaine Moran and Yasmine Richard count down the 40 hottest videos of 2012 over two, 120-minute episodes. For the first round, fuse selected 40 songs, and fans voted for their favorite song amongst 20 pairs. The 20 winning songs advanced to Round 2, where fans voted for their fave for each of 10 different song pairs. The 10 winning songs advanced and fuse selected six wildcard songs -- Rihanna "Where Have You Been"; Katy Perry "Part of Me"; One Direction "What Makes You Beautiful"; Demi Lovato "Give Your Heart a Break"; fun. "We Are Young"; and Maroon "Payphone" ft. Wiz Khalifa -- which were the six songs receiving the most votes of those eliminated in the first two rounds. Fans voted for their fave song amongst eight pairs in Round 3 and four pairs in Round 4, with these four songs winning: The Wanted "Glad You Came"; Katy Perry "Part of Me"; Christina Aguilera "Your Body"; and fun. "We Are Young". In the penultimate round of voting, fans selected Katy Perry "Part of Me" over The Wanted "Glad You Came" and Christina Aguilera "Your Body" instead of fun.'s "We Are Young." Fan voting continued in Round 6 from November 14-16, with the winner revealed in this countdown. The top 40 videos of 2012 were:
