Plot Synopsis

TOUGH LOVE WITH HILARY FARR is a one-hour docuseries that follows LOVE IT OR LIST IT's Hilary Farr, as she helps families improve their lives and homes with a dash of tough love. Using her signature wit, she banishes their indecision and helps them maximize their homes to better suit their needs. As a mom, business owner and life partner, Hilary draws inspiration from her extensive design experience, as well as her own life lessons, as she develops creative solutions to get these families' lives back on track. In the series opener, "Make Room for Hubby," a couple's small home lacks room for entertaining, and without a home office, he is forced to work in his downtown bachelor pad. Hilary creates an office that will bring them back together plus a basement party space with something for everyone. During the series, Hilary will find solutions for a variety of home design challenges, including updating properties that seem frozen in time, finding extra room in small houses and adding a suite for extended family visits.

The 10-episode sophomore season of TOUGH LOVE WITH HILARY FARR premiered on Monday, September 4, 2023 at 9pm ET/PT on HGTV. Season 2 follows Hilary as she solves families' inadequate living arrangements with her signature wit, no-nonsense approach and smart design choices to get their digs and lives in order. In each episode, Hilary will make a house call to get to the root of her clients' issues at home and devise creative design solutions to make the most of their abode. in the season opener, "Bachelor Pad, Be Gone!," Hilary helps a blended family in Raleigh, North Carolina, turn his bachelor pad into their forever home. Armed with a hefty $200,000 budget, Hilary remedies the home's choppy layout and outdated rooms to create a space allowing more flow and function for this growing family to come together in harmony.
