Created with self-filmed iPhone footage from toy store owners, A TOY STORE NEAR YOU chronicles the nostalgia-and-plastic world of each individual shop, and how these businesses are trying to make it work while their stores are closed. More than just a show about toys, it's about the struggle and resilience of small businesses that fly under the radar of public awareness during a crisis like this (how often have you seen articles about "how to support your local toy stores during COVID?"). And the majority of proceeds will go back to the stores, too. Amazon Prime released the first episode of A TOY STORE NEAR YOU on Friday, May 29, 2020. In the series opener, Billy Galaxy went from rock star guitarist to rock star toy seller, and has since travelled the world in search of new treasures for his store; Billy Galaxy Vintage Toys & Collectibles. The dedication he has for toys is mirrored by the dedication to the hardworking employees of his shop, and he'll do whatever he can to make sure they're taken care of when COVID-19 forces him to close his doors.
