Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Brooks Atwood, TRASHFORMERS is a one-hour reality series that features two teams of upcycling designers who have three days to transform a large junk machine into smaller high-end products. Atwood gives style and construction advice to the two teams -- one led by designers Tim Sway and Harry Dwyer; the other captained by designers Gaylen Hamilton and Tiffany Threadgould -- and at the end of each episode a panel of retail experts assesses each team's creations. The team that created products with the largest total value is crowned the winner. In each 60-minute episode, the teams upcycle a different item including a 1947 Beechcraft Bonanza airplane, a discarded school bus, and a rusted old Ferris wheel. FYI premiered the first two (of three) episodes of TRASHFORMERS on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 10pm and 11pm ET, and the final installment one week later on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 10pm ET.

FYI premiered the season finale of TRASHFORMERS on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 10pm ET. In the season ender, "Ferris Wheel of Fortune," two teams of upcycling geniuses compete over three days to turn a rusted old Ferris wheel into must-have high-end products. But how easy is it to make fashionable items when your raw materials are rickety old seats? The contestants struggle like never before when faced with this behemoth and their lives will get even tougher when the judges hate the work in progress. There's only so much host Brooks Atwood can do to salvage this effort.
