Plot Synopsis

TREASURE DETECTIVES is a reality series that follows Curtis Dowling, a world-renowned fakes and forgeries detective, and his team of experts, as they investigate the authenticity of collectibles, antiques and artwork. Dowling has been hired by the world's most exclusive luxury brands, from Christie's to Tiffany to Cunard Cruise lines, to investigate and authenticate memorabilia and artwork in their interests. Now, Dowling and his hand-picked team of investigators -- which includes Catherine Knebel, Matthew Hutchens, Grant Sanders, and Andrew Smith -- dig into the history and the science of potentially counterfeit items on behalf of real collectors who may have been scammed. Each one-hour episode features two cases, during which the team traces not just where an item came from, but how it was made -- and in many cases, how it was faked. In the course of each investigation, Dowling and his team pull back the curtain on forgers, revealing the methods they use to create convincing fakes and showing viewers how to avoid similar scams.
