Plot Synopsis

TREETOP CAT RESCUE is a half-hour reality series that follows Shaun Sears and Tom Otto, brothers-in-law and certified arborists, who take calls around the clock from petrified pet owners with their beloved cats stuck in trees. After their expert evaluation of the rescue site, Tom and Shaun strap on their harnesses and begin their ascent. On their way up, they face myriad hazards, ranging from buzzing beehives and dead branches to unpredictable weather. That's when their biggest challenge of the rescue begins -- coaxing a distressed and helpless feline into their arms from heights as high as 150 feet off the ground. Each cat is different and no two rescues are the same. Plus, Tom and Shaun must channel their inner kitty to persuade the frightened feline out of potentially climbing higher, luring the cat to safety before descending the tree and reuniting them with their thankful owners. Each 30-minute episode features two rescues, including: Shaun heading out for a solo night mission to rescue Spaz, who's been missing for three weeks; Shaun and Tom encountering a stray cat rescue that might prove more challenging than they thought; their crew on scene in Maple Valley helping one owner investigate if the animal trapped in his tree is in fact his beloved missing cat; the guys heading west to Bremerton, WA to battle a brittle tree and less than ideal nighttime conditions to reach one cat that doesn't seem to want to be rescued; and many more rescues in western Washington. The duo runs the non-profit organization, Canopy Cat Rescue, a two-man operation adept at climbing the region's notoriously tall timber. Over the past two years, they have scaled trees as tall as 15 stories high while bringing nearly 500 kitties back to the loving arms of their worried humans.

On Saturday, July 25, 2015 from 11am-Noon ET/PT, Animal Planet premiered the season finale of TREETOP CAT RESCUE, showing back-to-back new episodes. In the morning's first new episode (11am), "Twin Tops," Shaun attempts a daring treetop to treetop rescue to bring a loveable indoor cat, Simon, home. The guys get a call to rescue Malcolm, a moody repeat offender who is never happy to be saved, before his unpredictable behavior gets the best the best of him. Then, in the season finale (11:30am), "Kitty Kitty, Tree Tree," Tom comes to the rescue of a concerned family as he reunites them with their loveable cat, Felix. Shaun braves a rainstorm to bring a feral cat, Pepper, down to his adoptive mom, and Tom races to save Hanna, an overly friendly cat, before she falls.
