Plot Synopsis

Host Bert Kreischer crashes vacations, taking the tourists to the coolest spots in town, the hidden gems that only locals know about and adventures that they would not have found on their own. In each 30-minute episode, Bert travels to a new city and convinces two random people to spontaneously agree to a three-day dream vacation with him instead of the ordinary vacation they had planned for themselves. As the best tour guide around, Kreischer delivers an action-packed itinerary, stacked with VIP access, accommodations, gourmet food, unexpected twists and celebrity appearances. And forget about guidebooks and tour buses, because every trip flip is designed to get vacationers off the beaten path, out of their comfort zones, and into mind-blowing, life-changing experiences. In Season 1, Bert: hangs with a couple at Lover's Beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; paddles to shore with the lucky couple and members of the Outrigger Canoe Club in Oahu, HI; eats king cake on Bourbon Street in New Orleans; goes behind the scenes at a Farmer's Market in San Francisco; enjoys Paragon sailing through the waters in Maui, HI; and flips trips for vacations at other destinations, like Cancun and San Diego. TRIP FLIP returned for its second season on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at 8pm ET, with Travel Channel showing back-to-back new episodes -- the first highlighting a trip to Australia's Great Barrier Reef and the second one featuring Seattle. Travel Channel broadcast the Season 3 premiere of TRIP FLIP on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT, as the cable channel showed back-to-back new episodes. In the Season 3 opener, Bert took Floridians Angela and Sara on an insane adventure to Idaho that begins with a major shot of adrenaline: BASE jumping off the Perrine Bridge. In the night's second episode, Bert took an Idaho-based couple, Kimi and Gabe, on a tropical, high-speed adventure in Costa Rica, as they zip lined through the jungle and tamed class IV rapids. TRIP FLIP returned for its fourth season on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 8-9pm ET/PT, as Travel Channel premiered back-to-back new episodes. In the season opener (8pm), "Michigan: Pasties, Puppies & the Plunge," Bert takes a warm-blooded Louisiana couple on a crazy outdoor adventure in the middle of the Michigan winter -- from dogsledding to plunging into a freezing cold lake wearing practically nothing. In the night's second new episode (8:30pm), "New Orleans: Breakneck Speeds, Boils & Beads," Bert takes a couple on a quest for celebration -- and beads -- throughout the whole state of Louisiana, from swamps to the heart of the French Quarter. In the rest of Season 4, Bert encourages two regular people to spontaneously agree to a once-in-a-lifetime trip in those locations: Alabama/Talladega; Fiji; Japan; North Carolina; Ohio/Great Lakes; South Africa; Tanzania/Zanzibar; Texas; Utah/Lake Powell; Vietnam; and Wisconsin.

Bert treks through Vietnam with two buskers from Cleveland in tow. They sail the waters of Halong Bay, get their ears cleaned on the streets of Hanoi, hike through the jungle, and sleep in a 3-million-year-old cave.
