Plot Synopsis

Created and executive produced by Guillermo del Toro, TROLLHUNTERS is an animated series that features a tale of two fantastical worlds set to collide in an epic saga. Set in the fictional suburb of Arcadia, 15-year-old Jim stumbles upon a mystical amulet on his way to school one morning, and inadvertently discovers that beneath his hometown lies a hidden battle between good trolls and bad. Strong-willed and seeking adventure but wholly unprepared for the responsibilities thrust upon him, Jim is forced to take on the exalted mantle of Trollhunter, sworn to protect the good trolls from powerful enemies bent on revenge. The first human ever to hold the honor, Jim abruptly goes from fighting his way through the daily mayhem of high school to joining a war that has raged for centuries, a conflict that now threatens all of mankind and troll-kind alike. Accompanied by his closest human friends, Toby and Claire, and a few key troll allies -- including Blinky, a kind-hearted troll who befriends him -- the courageous teenager must plunge headlong into a fantastical world of astonishing creatures, glorious cities, and fierce enemies -- like Bular, a sinister troll who targets Jim and his friends for battle. Suddenly destined to play a crucial role in an ancient battle of good and evil with stakes that couldn't be higher, Jim is determined to save the world -- right after gym class. Netflix released the entire 26-episode first season of TROLLHUNTERS on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT. On Friday, December 15, 2017 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Netflix released the 13-episode second season of TROLLHUNTERS. In Season 2, once-ordinary teen Jim Lake Jr. -- backed by his loyal friends -- advances his battle to protect Arcadia and the Troll world he's pledged to keep safe. The new season opens with Jim still trapped in the Darklands searching for Enrique, his friends rally to bring him back. But the Troll Tribunal has other ideas. Then, Claire recruits NotEnrique for a secret mission, while bully Steve stirs up trouble at school. In the Darklands, Jim meets "The Skullcrusher."
