Plot Synopsis

TRULY STRANGE is a series of three, one-hour science documentaries, revealing new truths about who we are, what we're made of, and where we may be headed. Each episode reveals a world where peculiar ideas are put to the test and nothing is quite as it seems -- where diseases are diagnosed by palm-readers, where paternity uncertainty drives the mating game, and where breasts are a toxic health hazard. The three episodes are: "From Here to Paternity," which uses modern science and one historic survey to test whether one in three children may be illegitimate, a statistic popularized by tabloids and talks shows; "Hidden in the Hand," which tests claims that people can diagnose attributes or conditions such as cancer, schizophrenia, and even bad teeth based on features of the human hand; and "The Secret Life of Breasts," which chronicles how doctors and scientists are using new ways of analyzing breast tissue, revealing startling and disturbing truths.
