Plot Synopsis

In each 60-minute episode, four fashion designers compete in elimination challenges as they vie for a $10,000 cash prize courtesy of Cover Girl and Herbal Essences. After a first-cut challenge, two of the contestants are eliminated and the remaining two designers are each tasked with creating a themed collection for their own star-studded runway show. With the help of a talented sewing team, each finalist must create a three-piece collection -- in one day -- and impress the program's judges, including: renowned designer Cynthia Rowley; "New York Times" best-selling author and fashion editor Derek Blasberg; and power publicist James LaForce. The sewing teams include: Justraymona, an industry professional for over 15 years, who is a patternmaker for Calvin Klein and Vera Wang; Jillian Maslow, who has tried her hand at everything from millenary to avant-garde couture during her 15 years in the industry; Sharon Clarke, a celebrity tailor with over 34 years experience; Mari Lee Gustafson, who produced samples for Urban Outfitters during her decade of experience; Sam Hughes, an international industry professional for more than 34 years; Cora James, who has over 25 years of industry experience; Paul Riner, who worked on Broadway for "The Lion King" and "Rock of Ages"; Kirsten Mogg, a Broadway costumer with over 20 years experience; Deron A. Shields, who has more than a decade of industry experience for many designers, including Zac Posen; and Michaell Lynn, an expert couturier with over 30 years experience. Lifetime aired a sneak preview episode of this series on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 10pm ET/PT, five days before the program's official series premiere.
