Plot Synopsis

This reality series follows middleweight titleholder Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (46-0-1, 32 KOs) and former champ Sergio Martinez (49-2-2, 28 KOs), as they prepare for their 12-round WBC middleweight title fight at The Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas on September 13, 2012. Chavez Jr. is training in Los Angeles, and his famous father visits his training sessions. During a recent sparring session, Chavez Jr. received a slightly bruised left eye but should be healed by the day of the fight. Chavez Jr. is defending his crown after defeating Sebastian Zbik in June 2011 to win the title. For this fight, Chavez Jr. plans to challenge Martinez with constant pressure, not letting him rest at any point in the fight. Meanwhile, Martinez is training in Oxnard, CA, where he received threats and where his car was vandalized at his home, causing his camp to cancel a scheduled workout for media and to hire 24/7 security. Martinez was the WBC middleweight champion until his title was stripped from him in March 2011, when he fought Sergiy Dzinziruk instead of Zbik, the top challenger. Now, Martinez is focused on recapturing the title, especially because he is "still convinced that he [Chavez Jr.] was given the belt and the title when he didn't deserve it," according to his statement in an interview on FACE OFF WITH MAX KELLERMAN.
