Plot Synopsis

The 2012 UEFA European Football Championship features the top 16 national soccer teams in Europe, competing for the European Championship, with the final tournament hosted by Poland and Ukraine from June 8, 2012 through July 1, 2012. Round-robin group play includes:
Group A: Poland, Greece, Russia, Czech Republic
Group B (the group of death): Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Portugal
Group C: Spain, Italy, Ireland, Croatia
Group D: France, England, Ukraine, Sweden
with the winners and runners-up of each group advancing to the tournament quarterfinals. The following pairs of play-by-play announcers and in-booth analysts call the games: Ian Darke with Steve McManaman; Adrian Healey with Robbie Mustoe; and Derek Rae with one of Taylor Twellman and Kasey Keller. Plus, during pregame, halftime and post-game, three studio hosts -- OUTSIDE THE LINES host Bob Ley, ESPN UK football presenter/reporter Rebecca Lowe, and SPORTSCENTER anchor Max Bretos -- work with a team of former players who excelled in professional soccer: former German National Team captain Michael Ballack, 1978 FIFA World Cup champion and Golden Boot winner Mario Kempes, former U.S. National Team defender Alexi Lalas, former U.S. National Team and Premier League goalkeeper Kasey Keller, former Mexican National Team player Jose Antonio "Tato" Noriega, and more.
