Plot Synopsis

In each one-hour episode, ULTIMATE ANIMAL COUNTDOWN reveals a list of the top 10 animals in a single category, such as the smelliest, best fighters, or wildest swarms. Episodes include: "Lethal Weapons," which shows nature's top 10 elite warriors and the weapons they use to survive, like the aye-aye, the world's largest nocturnal primate, known for its extra-long finger used to kill; "Fighters," counting down the ultimate top 10 warrior males in the natural world to discover whose fights last longest; "Sex," chronicling the top 10 sexual athletes of the animal world, including one animal that can actually give birth without a partner; "Attack," which reveals the top 10 ultimate animal attackers to find who creates the most carnage by comparing the likelihood of their attack with the power of their weapons and the number of humans harmed; "Smelliest," showcasing the top 10 smelliest animals on the planet, including cute and cuddly lemurs whose scent packs a powerful punch; "Defenders," which highlights the ultimate top 10 defenders and the body armor, barricades and bombs that they use to protect themselves; "Daredevils," featuring the ultimate top 10 animal adrenaline junkies, such as free-wheeling salamanders and base-jumping barnacle geese; "Survivors," which counts down the ultimate top 10 survivors in the natural world, like those that survive deadly dehydration of desert storms and frostbite and famine of the frozen north; and "Swarms," which chronicles the top 10 wildest swarms, such as a swarm of killer bees that chase a target for a quarter mile and the wildebeest making the largest migration of land mammals. Nat Geo Wild aired the U.S. premiere of this series on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 10pm ET.
