Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Brazilian author and journalist Pedro Andrade, UNKNOWN AMAZON WITH PEDRO ANDRADE is a six-episode documentary series that takes viewers on a journey through the Amazon Basin, revealing the real modern-day Amazon in all its complexity. The only way to really understand the Amazon is to spend time with the people who live there, and in each one-hour episode Pedro meets a different group of Amazonians to experience and attempt to understand its natural wonders, traditions, conflicts and the exceptional skills of its inhabitants. In the series opener, "River Hunters," Pedro travels into the heart of the Amazon to discover the changing world of the Ribeirinho, the river people of Brazil, who invite hime on a terrifying search for the black caiman.
