Plot Synopsis
UNSELLABLE HOUSES is a reality series that follows sisters Lyndsay Lamb and Leslie Davis, as they invest their own money into King or Snohomish County homes that need help, and then work serious design magic to make sure everyone leaves with money in their pockets. Lyndsay, an expert in home renovation, design and staging, and Leslie, an expert in budget and negotiations, are so confident they can sell any home that they're willing to invest their own money to make the sale. On Monday, May 13, 2019 at 10pm ET/PT, HGTV premiered the series pilot, but the cable channel had no other episodes on its schedule at that time. In the pilot, "Old House to Sold House," a couple's desperation to sell their small, historic bungalow has hit an all-time high, but Leslie and Lyndsay decide to help out after visiting a comparable home nearby.
HGTV debuted the official series premiere of UNSELLABLE HOUSES on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 from 9-10pm ET/PT, airing back-to-back new episodes. In the first episode, "Road House to Show House" (9pm), Leslie and Lyndsay help a family struggling to sell their roadside rambler. Hoping to distract buyers from the road noise outside, the twins make some bold design choices to turn the dated ranch house into a stylish home that a new family will love. Then, in the second episode, "Condo Cleanup" (9:30pm), A young millennial's recent home improvement projects have made it hard for her to sell her condo. Twins Leslie and Lyndsay transform her DIY disaster into a hip, modern home -- perfect for a first-time home buyer.
On Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 9pm ET/PT, HGTV premiered the second season of UNSELLABLE HOUSES. The new episodes not only spotlight the spunky sisters' booming real estate and renovation business -- which now includes a new office space, a growing staff and a retail storefront -- but also their busy family lives. Lyndsay and Leslie have their kids help with their renovation projects, teach their teenage sons how to drive, plan birthday parties and welcome new furry members to the family. In the one-hour season opener, "Keeping the Character," Lyndsay and Leslie take on a drab Craftsman-style home that sat on the market for months. To address the home's issues that have kept buyers at bay, the sisters reimagine the exterior, install a new roof and implement an open floor plan that they expect will secure top dollar offers. During the episode, they also brighten a secluded mid-century modern bungalow, give a small ranch-style home an inviting backyard space with a party deck and modernize a property with unappealing and outdated finishes.
Season 3 of UNSELLABLE HOUSES premiered on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT on HGTV. Lyndsay Lamb and Leslie Davis return to assist homeowners who are struggling to sell their less-than-perfect homes. In the season opener, "Family Fixer," Lyndsay and Leslie help their cousin, Jake, and his wife, Brittney, sell their seemingly unsellable property in Snohomish County that has left prospective buyers uninterested. With many spaces left patched up and unfinished, they transform this DIY-gone-wrong into a market-ready home.
The fourth season of UNSELLABLE HOUSES debuted with back-to-back episodes on Sunday, September 10, 2023 from 8-10pm ET/PT on HGTV. In the season opener, "New Market, New Man" (8pm), Lyndsay and Leslie face a difficult buyer's market at a 1960s house with melted tiles, a "murder" floor stain and a teeny shower. The twins create an organic modern masterpiece, but selling this home is the most difficult they've faced to date. Then, in the night's second episode, "Hidden Problems Into Tranquil Hideaway" (9pm), after seven months on the market, Lyndsay and Leslie battle plumbing problems and water damage to get a small home sold. Using unique solutions, the twins transform the crowded entrance, tiny bathroom and rotted deck into a tranquil hideaway.
Season 5 of UNSELLABLE HOUSES premiered on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 8pm ET/PT on HGTV. Throughout the 13-episode season, the twin sisters put their own money on the line, relying on Lyndsay's design and staging talents and Leslie's budget and negotiation skills, to prepare stagnant homes to sell for maximum profit that will be split with the homeowners. To further help families through a challenging Pacific Northwest housing market, this season, Lyndsay and Leslie will also take on homebuying clients looking for the right property to buy and fix up, and they'll work with homeowner clients who want to stay in their home that needs a renovation. In the season opener, "Fixing a Cheap Flip," Lyndsay and Leslie will help a mother sell a 1920s bungalow she bought to be closer to her daughter during a dire health crisis. With her daughter now in better health, they will give the home a stylish, era-specific upgrade to earn a big profit. Along the way, Lyndsay's son, Miles, will join the Lamb & Co. team and begin his training in the warehouse.
