Plot Synopsis
Executive produced by Arianna Huffington, VALLEY OF THE BOOM is a mostly scripted series that tells the true inside story of the internet's fascinating formative years, featuring the culture of speculation, innovation and disruption during Silicon Valley's unprecedented tech boom and subsequent bust from 1994-2000. Focusing on three companies and their key leaders -- streaming video startup Pixelon, led by Michael Fenne; social-networking site TheGlobe.com, founded by Todd Krizelman and Stephan Paternot; and Netsape, with CEO James Barksdale and co-founder Marc Andreessen -- this six-part limited series supplements its fictionalized version of events with real-life interviews featuring subjects of the company and other tech experts like Mark Cuban, Dan Goodin and Arianna Huffington. National Geographic Channel debuted back-to-back episodes of VALLEY OF THE BOOM from 9-11pm ET/PT on three consecutive Sundays, beginning January 13, 2019 ad concluding on January 27.
