Plot Synopsis

VENOM HUNTERS is a one-hour reality series that follows four teams of snake wranglers as they attempt to catch, milk, and release the world's deadliest reptiles. Every year, venomous snakes kill over 100,000 people and hospitalize thousands more. Despite this staggering number, the deadly venom is also used to save lives in the production of anti-venom. There's a problem though: anti-venom supplies are dwindling every year, making the stakes even higher for the professionals who harvest this precious substance. From the Florida swamplands and the plains of Oklahoma to the Australian outback and Arizona desert, these venom experts put their lives on the line. The demand for venom is at an all-time high as it is now being used to not only create anti-venom, but also as a key part of cutting-edge medical research that aims to treat diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and even cancer. With over 600 species of venomous snakes worldwide, these hunters risk their lives with every step -- and one wrong move could be their last. The four teams are: Tim Fitzer (age 53), a Native American taxidermist and snake hunter, with his close friend and teammate of 35 years, Kevin Baker (52), and newcomer Hannah Lockhart (27); Ed Chapman (76), a legend within the venom collection and research community, who has brought on an apprentice, Justin Bottrell (34), to keep clients' shelves stocked and Ed's business booming; husband-and-wife team Dan (45) and Melanie Massey (43), who are inspired by their love of science, research and animal conservation; and Brian Barczyk (45), the owner of one of the largest reptile collections in the world, whose teammate, Chewy (47), is an expert in handling non-venomous snakes.

On Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT, Discovery premiered the season finale of VENOM HUNTERS. In the season ender, "Now or Never," all four teams are back in action on the final hunt of the season. Tim dances with death in Georgia, Ed and Dan both have big questions to answer, while Brian and Chewy are back for one last hunt that could make or break them.
