Plot Synopsis

THE VET LIFE is a one-hour reality series that follows three veterinarians and their staff at Cy-Fair Animal Hospital, a vet clinic and animal shelter in the greater Houston area. Plus, as Dr. Diarra Blue, Dr. Aubrey Ross and Dr. Michael Lavigne navigate the balancing act of running their newly-opened animal hospital and rescue, they also must manage the everyday stress of raising their families alongside their wives. The three doctors developed a strong friendship while attending Tuskegee University's College of Veterinary Medicine and reconvened in Las Vegas where they began their careers and honed their surgery skills. After years of paying their dues, they decided to fulfill their dreams of owning their own practice and set their sights on Dr. Ross' hometown of Houston. In 2015, Cy-Fair Animal Hospital opened its doors to service the community and their pets. The veterinarians are dedicated to providing the best care for their patients - both human and animal. Dr. Blue's personality keeps them smiling and in good spirits while Dr. Ross keeps the clinic running during an often hectic work day. Dr. Lavigne is a skilled surgeon who provides balance. The series opens with Houston welcoming the three veterinarians, who have their hands full with cases ranging from risky surgeries to diagnosing hungry chameleons, their hands are full. A car accident brings the practice to a halt as one of the doctors faces a long recovery. Season 2 of THE VET LIFE premiered on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT on Animal Planet. This season, the doctors' competitive comradery is in full force as they build and expand the scope of Cy Fair Animal Hospital. After treating an escaped tiger last year, Dr. Ross one ups Dr. Blue again, this time with baby kangaroos. Not to be outdone by his partner, Dr. Blue claims bragging rights when a baby goat and pig are brought into his exam room. Meanwhile, Dr. Lavigne stays above the fray and saves the life of a family mastiff and performs a complicated surgery on a pit mix. On the personal front, it's finally time for Dr. Ross and his wife Tauvia to move out of his mom's house and buy a home of their own. Dr. Blue gets inspired by a client to start riding motorcycles again but his passion is put on hold when his brother suffers a serious health issue. Dr. Lavigne and his wife Anne are navigating changes as well as she explores a new career while raising two teenage kids. In the season opener, "Dunk-A-Doctor," Dr. Ross treats baby kangaroos and links up with the owners of a petting zoo to hold a fun event at the clinic to promote animal awareness. Dr. Blue removes a mass from a beloved pit-mix, and Dr. Lavigne treats a vision and hearing impaired Great Dane.
Season 3 of THE VET LIFE premiered on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT on Animal Planet. With their Houston area-based veterinary practice flourishing, Dr. Diarra Blue, Dr. Aubrey Ross and Dr. Michael Lavigne are eager to continue serving their loyal clientele including loving family cats and dogs as well as farm and other animals. This season, as the Doctors simultaneously balance their work and personal lives with wives and kids, they must also support one another more than ever before as unexpected events challenge and inspire them. With work keeping the doctors busier than ever this season, each must find the work/life balance that works best for them as they make the time for monumental life events, such as Dr. Blue's fifth wedding anniversary renewal in Las Vegas, giving their kids driving lessons, and exciting family camping trips.

The season opener, "Hurricane Harvey Special," follows the Cy-Fair Animal Hospital reopening after being closed due to Hurricane Harvey. While the vets work around the clock to save animals and aid family and staff that have lost everything, Hurricane Harvey hits close to home for Dr. Blue when it directly affects his family.
