Plot Synopsis

VIDA is a half-hour drama series that follows two Mexican-American sisters, Emma and Lyn, from the Eastside of Los Angeles who couldn't be more different or distanced from each other. Circumstances force them to return to their old neighborhood, where they are confronted by the past and shocking truth about the identify of their mother, Vidalia. Tanya Saracho is the showrunner and an executive producer for VIDA.
Season 2 of VIDA premieres Spring 2019 on Starz. In the second season, Lyn and Emma begin the monumental task of rebuilding their mother's legacy -- a crumbling bar and apartment building in East L.A. -- at a time when the local anti-gentrification uprising will stop at almost nothing to call out any and all cultural displacers. While navigating such obstacles, Lyn and Emma contemplate the relationships in their lives, including their own, and are forced to dig deep to unearth what their mother's legacy means to them. Roberta Colindrez joins the cast of as a new series regular in an expanded 10-episode second season during which series creator and executive producer Tanya Saracho makes her directorial debut. Colindrez plays Nico a new bartender at the family bar.
