Hosted by Liev Schreiber, VIOLENT EARTH is a one-hour documentary series that explores the unbelievable science behind epic natural events. Increasingly frequent and harrowing climate events including hurricanes, tornadoes, volcano eruptions, tsunamis and wildfires are examined in this jaw-dropping series. Featuring incredible footage of the most intense examples of these weather events and new interviews with the scientists, storm chasers, and survivors who lived through them, the series takes an in-depth examination into our natural world and its changing climate. In each 60-minute episode, scientists and meteorologists explain the science behind these deadly natural occurrences, how they form, where they happen, and what to do if you find yourself trapped in one of these situations. The five-episode series debuts in June 2024:

"Tornado" (Sunday, June 2, 2024 at 9pm): Tornadoes are among the most powerful and destructive natural hazards in the world, with the U.S. experiencing the most globally; experts explain their formation, while residents of Kentucky and Missouri share harrowing survival stories.

"Wildfire" (Sunday, June 9, 2024 at 9pm): Wildfires are becoming megafires, devastating populated areas and causing tragic loss of life, as seen with the Yarnell Hill Fire and the Maui Fire in Lahaina, Hawaii; experts investigate the science and causes behind this phenomenon.

"Tsunami" (Sunday, June 16, 2024 at 9pm): Two of the deadliest tsunamis ever recorded are the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami and the 2011 Tohoku Tsunami in Japan; survivors recount traumatic experiences as scientists shed light on the causes and warning signs of tsunamis.

"Volcano" (Sunday, June 23, 2024 at 9pm): Volcanoes erupt globally every day, with immense destructive potential; detailed footage and survival tales provide insight into their monstrous power, from Mount St. Helens in 1980 to the 2018 eruption of Volcan de Fuego.

"Hurricane" (Sunday, June 30, 2024 at 9pm): Experts explore formation, increasing frequency, heightened power, and the science behind surviving hurricanes.
