Plot Synopsis

Jennifer Granholm, the former two-term Democratic governor of Michigan, hosts this week-nightly news and commentary program, which sheds light on the Election 2012 news of the day with in-studio commentary, in-depth coverage and instant analysis from guests on the cutting edge of politics, business and entertainment. Granholm is joined by a group of progressive political commentators including: Laura Tyson, the former Chair of President Clinton's Council of Economic Advisors and one of the country's leading experts on the US economy; former San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom; Van Jones, an environmental advocate, civil rights activist, attorney and co-founder of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights; Maria Echevaste, the former Clinton White House Deputy Chief of Staff and co-founder of Nueva Vista Group; and Celinda Lake, a pollster and political strategist. Regular segments on THE WAR ROOM include: "What's Working," a twice weekly segment aimed at examining specific policies and how the government can make a difference; "The Big Money of Politics," which sheds light on how money, including Super PACS, are impacting politics; "State of our States," a nightly segment where the Governor brings news from various state capitols to examine the election and policy issues which dominate the agenda; and "Shush, Brett's Talking," providing comedic relief on the day's political news from writer and producer Brett Erlich.
