Plot Synopsis
This two-part documentary captures the sights, sounds and diversity of the Amazon, the world's largest rainforest, by taking a journey through its impenetrable jungle, mystical cloud forests and vast wetlands. With more than half of the world's plant and animal species, the Amazon is home to common species as well as the world's oddest creatures: the bizarre pink Amazon River dolphins; turtles that strike as fast as snakes; backwater hunters like the Black caiman; the bizarre looking Uakari; Amazonian manatees; and the mighty jaguar, which calls the Amazon one of its last refuges.
