Plot Synopsis

WILD MISSISSIPPI takes a one-year, 2350-mile journey on the Mississippi river, starting at Lake Itasca in Minnesota in the winter and ending in the Gulf of Mexico. The three, one-hour episodes of this series are: "Deep Freeze," where creatures, such as beavers, bobcats and gray wolves, have adapted survival strategies to endure the winters in Lake Itasca in Minnesota, where temperatures reach 33 below zero; "Raging Waters," documenting Spring when all the snow and ice from across the watershed melts, triggering a massive flood of biblical proportions; and "Delta Blues," which highlights water rising two inches every hour, forcing creatures to flee from the destruction caused by the Mississippi after being joined by the even-more-flooded Ohio River.
