Plot Synopsis

Each one-hour episode focuses on a single theme, highlighting the strangest, freakiest, and weirdest behaviors in the animal kingdom. From animals that develop their babies in their mother's back skin to strange adaptations that enable creatures to survive in extreme environments and from alien-looking body parts and camouflage to animals who eat their partners alive right after mating, this series showcases more than 100 different species whose antics are out of this world. WORLD'S WEIRDEST had it's world premiere when "Freaks of the Ocean" aired on Nat Geo Wild in Australia on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 7:30pm. One day later on Monday, March 7, 2011, Nat Geo Wild in the United States aired all three episodes back-to-back, starting at 8pm ET, marking the U.S. premiere of "Freaks of the Ocean" and the world premiere of "Freaks of the Sky" and "Freaks on Land." After the first season, which included themed episodes about air, land and water, Season 2 highlighted love and war. Season 3, which premiered on Nat Geo Wild on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 9pm ET, featured episodes about "Oddities," "Sneak Attacks," "Animals Behaving Badly," and "Freaky Eats."
