Plot Synopsis

Based on Jill Murphy's beloved books, THE WORST WITCH centers on the bumbling Mildred Hubble, who stumbles into Cackle's Academy, a school for witches, where she realizes that she just might belong there. Her time at the school is filled with potions, spells and broomsticks -- and one disaster after the next. The series opens when a broomstick crash-lands on Mildred's balcony, and she hitches a ride to Cackle's Academy, where she begins her training as a newly minted witch. And when it's time for the first-years to choose their feline familiars, Mildred's cat, Tabby, is a terrible co-pilot because of her fear of flying. On Friday, July 21, 2017 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Netflix released the U.S. premiere of the first season of THE WORST WITCH.

Season 2 of THE WORST WITCH had its U.S. premiere on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Netflix released the entire 13-episode new season. A second year at Cackle's Academy means double the magic and mischief for accident-prone witch in training Mildred Hubble and her friends. The season opens as the academy welcomes a new crop of first-years, Mildred makes a disastrous entrance, then accidentally destroys part of the school! Then, a powerful spell binds Mildred and Ethel together until they've learned to get along. An enchanting new art mistress urges the girls to get creative.

Returning for its third season in the U.S., Season 3 of THE WORST WITCH debuted on Netflix on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT. Armed with newfound confidence, Mildred returns to Cackle's Academy, where her mother is joining the staff as the school's first nonmagical teacher. The season opens with Mildred starting the new term with skill and confidence but faltering when she tries to win a flying contest with a particularly special prize. Then, Some witches are more welcoming than others when Mildred's nonmagical mother, Julie, reports for duty as the school's new art teacher.

The 13-episode fourth season of THE WORST WITCH had its U.S. premiere on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT on Netflix. A series of challenges push Mildred and Ethel's magical powers to the limit as they compete for the honor of being named Head Girl. In the season opener, "The Three Impossibilities," Ethel's meddling leaves Mildred with a shocking new look. But to regain her original appearance, Mildred must complete a trio of impossible feats.
