Plot Synopsis

Each year, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) inducts wrestling legends and personalities into the WWE Hall of Fame, and the WWE HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY is a one-hour special that chronicles highlights and the best moments from each ceremony. The induction ceremonies were originally held in conjunction with wrestling events in the mid-1990s -- and the ceremonies were not shown on TV -- but the WWE Hall of Fame went on an eight-year hiatus, until it returned in 2004 with an event that was again not broadcast on TV. The following year, Spike aired the first televised induction ceremonies for the WWE Hall of Fame, and USA has aired the WWE HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY since 2006. During the 2013 ceremony, held the night before WrestleMania 29 at Madison Square Garden and broadcast as a one-hour special on Tuesday, April 9, at 10pm ET/PT on USA network, six WWE legends were immortalized, including: Bruno Sammartino, who was introduced by Arnold Schwarzenegger; Trish Stratus, inducted by Stephanie McMahon; Mick Foley, inducted by Terry Funk; Booker T, introduced by his brother, Stevie Ray; Bob Backlund, introduced by Maria Menounos; and Donald Trump, inducted by Vince McMahon. The 2014 WWE HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY was held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 and streamed live online at WWE Network. Two days later, USA Network broadcast the television premiere of the ceremony on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 11:05 pm ET/PT, showing the event as a one-hour special. 2014 inductees included: Ultimate Warrior, introduced by Linda McMahon; Jake 'The Snake' Roberts, introduced by Dallas Page; Lita, introduced by Trish Stratus; Paul Bearer, introduced by Kane and with a tribute from the Undertaker; Carlos Colon, introduced by his three "sons" -- Primo, Epico, and Carlito; Mr. T, introduced by Gene Okerlund and T Jr.; and Razor Ramon, introduced by Kevin Nash. The 2015 WWE HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY was held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the SAP Center in San Jose, CA, and was streamed live online at WWE Network. Two days later, the event was first broadcast on television by USA Network as a one-hour special on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 11pm ET/PT. This year, WWE Legends, including 'Macho Man' Randy Savage, The Bushwhackers and Rikishi, as well as pop-culture icon Arnold Schwarzenegger, were immortalized as members of the WWE Hall of Fame for their accomplishments and contributions in sports entertainment. USA Network broadcast the linear television debut of the 2016 WWE HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY as a one-hour special on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT, five days after the ceremony was held on Saturday, April 2 at American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX, which was live streamed on WWE Network starting at 8pm ET. The 2016 class includes Sting, Stan Hansen, Jacqueline, the Godfather, the Big Boss Man and the Fabulous Freebirds. On Monday, April 3, 2017 at 11pm ET/PT, USA Network broadcast the linear premiere of the 2017 WWE HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY, which took place three days earlier on Friday, March 31 at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. This one-hour special features the Hall of Fame class, including Diamond Dallas Page (inducted by Eric Bischoff), The Rock 'N' Roll Express (inducted by legendary manager Jim Cornette), 'Ravishing' Rick Rude (inducted posthumously by fellow Hall of Famer Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat), Beth Phoenix (inducted by her best friend and former tag team partner Natalya), Teddy Long (inducted by longtime friends, The APA's JBL and Ron Simmons), and Kurt Angle (inducted by John Cena). Plus, former Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand was presented with the Warrior Award.
