Plot Synopsis

Contestants purchase a series of clues and solve puzzles to win money -- not for themselves, but for someone else they feel deserves it. In studio, host Chris Harrison leads each contestant through a series of rounds, starting with a $10,000 round and going up to a $250,000 round, during which the player can purchase a series of clues -- but each clue costs money, and they won't know how much until the randomly chosen amount is unveiled after it's been purchased. The beneficiary, who is in another location under constant hidden-camera surveillance throughout the show, gets the surprise of a lifetime when family, friends, co-host Brooke Burns and a camera crew burst in with life-changing news. In each 60-minute episode, one contestant tries to win money for their chosen recipient, including: Stacey Finnerty, a high school teacher and coach, is playing for her best friend, Michelle Brislen, who just five months earlier lost her husband in a tragic diving accident, leaving her to raise their two children on her own; Ja'Ire Hattley is playing for her mother, Alice Hattley, a local community hero, who created a non-profit organization called "House of Praise" but recently lost her house and is on the verge of losing her non-profit organization; and many do-gooders who want to win money for deserving and needy people.
