Each year since 2013, VH1 has broadcast its YOU OUGHTA KNOW IN CONCERT, featuring promising musical artists who are on the brink of stardom. In addition to music from the concert, the television program also uses VH1 original short film profiles that showcase the artists' personal lives and careers. Hosted by music expert Jim Shearer, this event featured performances by new artists HAIM, JOHNNYSWIM and Lorde, who were joined onstage by these "You Oughta Know" alums: Ed Sheeran; Emeli Sane; Matt Nathanson; and The Lumineers. On Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 9-11pm ET (live)/PT (tape), VH1 presented YOU OUGHTA KNOW LIVE IN CONCERT, the first time the concert has been shown live. Hosted by Nicole Richie from New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom, the 2014 event featured performances and collaborations from 11 new "You Oughta Know" artists, including A Great Big World, Aloe Blacc, American Authors, Bleachers, CHVRCHES, Echosmith, KONGOS, Mary Lambert, Tove Lo, Vance Joy, and Sam Smith.
