Plot Synopsis

Based on the book "After Camelot: Personal History of the Kennedy Family 1968 to the Present" by J. Randy Taraborrelli. Sequel to 2011 miniseries "The Kennedys." Chronicles the public and private joys and tragedies of the Kennedy political dynasty. Night 1: "Family Bonds." Following the assassination of Bobby Kennedy, Jackie marries Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis. Ted Kennedy is pressured to run for president. The family is shaken to its core after Ted's car accident at Chappaquiddick. Jackie returns from Greece to help the Kennedys, only to find herself drawn into their attempt to save Ted's career. Night 2: "New Beginnings." After Chappaquiddick is resolved, a permanent cloud hangs over Ted's public life and his conscience. Jackie's marriage to Onassis ends after the death of his son. She returns to New York with her children but her relationship with JFK Jr. is strained. Ted falls deeper into alcoholism and depression when his son suffers a catastrophic illness. Jackie urges him to reform his personal life. Jackie finds happiness with a new companion but that happiness is cut short when she dies at the age of 64. JFK Jr. contemplates a run for office but he's later killed in a plane crash that ends forever the legacy of "Camelot"
