Plot Synopsis

When music magazine editor Amber is passed over for a promotion that's rightfully hers, she decides to spend Christmas with her Aunt Dora, the famous singer Dora DuChamp, who is now retired and owns the Mountain Pines Inn in Silver Springs, Colorado. Picked up at the train station by a handsome driver, Amber doesn't hide her Type A personality one bit and is embarrassed to learn he's Alan, her aunt's friend who agreed to meet her when all the taxis were booked. Off to a frosty start, Amber and Alan are none too happy to find out at the tree lighting that Dora has volunteered them to organize the school fundraiser. In charge of the event for years, Alan bristles when Amber wants to turn it into an elaborate gala. Claiming it's a showcase for the kids since the music program is funded by a grant, Alan is glad when Amber leaves. But when the grant is canceled, he becomes open to Amber's ideas, especially when her magazine becomes a sponsor. But, of course, there's one condition: Amber must get Dora, who isn'tt fond of the press, to give an interview. Agreeing to write the article she convinces Dora and the two enjoy catching up in the process. As Alan and Amber warm up while planning everything, all is going well, until the auditorium pipes burst. Luckily, Dora comes to the rescue, suggesting the church holds the event and offering to come out of retirement to draw people in. With the fundraiser a success, the warmth between Alan and Amber grows into a romantic flame. Falling in love, Alan and Amber now must face what to do when Amber is offered a promotion that will launch her career.
