Plot Synopsis

When a couple hires a nanny to help with their three children, she accepts the job with the understanding that the middle child is imaginary and is acknowledged by everyone in the family. Confused by the situation she soon falls into the family's routine. Concerned for the eldest daughter, who has taken it upon herself to maintain her mother's fantasy, she alerts the authorities but soon regrets the decision when she learns why they endure the delusion... they are afraid mom will be committed.
