Plot Synopsis
Based on the play by Horton Foote. In 1910 Houston, a young man is reunited with his mother and sister years after his father died and he was sent to live with other relatives by his new stepfather. On arriving home again he is soon asked to leave when his taciturn stepfather returns unexpectedly from a business trip. Befallen by a mysterious illness he is forced to stay and recover. During his convalescence, he confronts unresolved conflicts and long held resentments towards his sister, mother and stepfather.
