Plot Synopsis

A leathery San Francisco police detective is obsessed with solving a twenty-year old serial murder case even though it has effectively destroyed his health and relationships with family and friends. Although the department believes the killer to have been shot during a kidnapping attempt, the dogged cop is convinced that another suspect, a suspicious loner, is the guilty perpetrator. A game of psychological warfare is waged between the two adversaries until the detective finally gets his man.
