Plot Synopsis

Alex Burns copy-edits for a travel magazine but has always wanted to be a writer. Now the magazine is holding a contest and the winner not only lands a spot on the writing staff, but also gets a first-class ticket to anywhere in the world. Alex pitches a story about extreme sports photographer Cole Taylor, but her editor suggests she also write from the angle of a non-adventurer trying risky sports herself. Her boyfriend Barton is supportive, but doesn't see her as the daring type. Determined to realize her writing aspirations, she heads to Colorado, where she meets Cole and convinces him to be her guide in exchange for helping him at his gallery. Though Alex is a klutz, in no time she's hiking, skiing and ziplining, all as Cole photographs her exhilaration. In the crisp mountain air and the fresh powder snow they soon fall in love. But when Barton comes and lets it slip that Cole is part of Alex's article, he feels betrayed. Later though, after reading her story, he is happy for her, and even happier when she returns with a ticket and an invitation to join her on an adventure, hopefully to be the first of many.
