Plot Synopsis
Based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler" by Frank Nap. Arthur Murphy coaches a perpetually-losing, semi-pro baseball team in a small country town in Ohio, and is getting pressure from the team's owner to improve -- or suffer the consequences. On a scouting trip to find new talent, he meets a 17-year-old autistic kid named Mickey Tussler who has a killer fastball. Murphy persuades Mickey's uptight parents to let him come to Clayton, Ohio and tryout for the team. Mickey has one of the most gifted arms in the history of baseball, but his Asperger's Syndrome keeps him isolated from a world he attempts to understand. Caught between his life with an overbearing father and taunting rivals, Mickey turns to his gift and the support of Murphy, who gives him the opportunity of a lifetime. Over the course of a season, both of them learn valuable life lessons
