Plot Synopsis

When corporate actuary Amelia is sent to her hometown of Carbon Hill to restructure Donners, a family-owned ornament factory, the employees see her as their savior who is coming in to rescue the company. Their joy soon turns to despair when they learn that she is actually planning major layoffs. Nobody is more shocked than Jesse Donner, the factory's owner and her ex-high school boyfriend. As she tries to prepare herself for a different kind of holiday trimming, she finds herself falling for Jesse and his son Danny who has made a very special wish to Santa. As Amelia begins to see the charm of the local business, she realizes that it's worth saving -- she just hopes she'll be able to do in time.
