Plot Synopsis
Inspired by the 2017 movie, "How to Be A Latin Lover," ACAPULCO is a bilingual comedy series that tells the story of twenty-something Maximo Gallardo, whose dream comes true when he gets the job of a lifetime as a cabana boy at the hottest resort in Acapulco. He soon realizes the job is far more complicated than he ever imagined and in order to succeed, he must learn to navigate a demanding clientele, a mercurial mentor, and a complicated home life, without losing his way to shortcuts or temptations. The first two episodes of ACAPULCO dropped on Friday, October 8, 2021 on Apple TV+. A new episode drops each Friday through December 3 (except for Thanksgiving Weekend, when the new installment debuts Thanksgiving morning).
The sophomore season of ACAPULCO premiered on Friday, October 21, 2022 on Apple TV+, releasing the first two episodes of the new season. A new installment drops each Friday through December 16. Season 2 picks up right on the heels of Season 1, telling the story of twenty-something Maximo Gallardo, whose dream comes true when he scores the job of a lifetime as a cabana boy at the hottest resort in Acapulco, Las Colinas. In 1985, Maximo must contend with upheaval at the resort, unexpected problems at home and a new love interest who just might rival the girl of his dreams. Under Don Pablo's guidance, he sets his eyes on one day running the entire Las Colinas operation by becoming Diane's right-hand man. Meanwhile, in present day, Older Maximo returns to Acapulco to make peace with the recent passing of Don Pablo, where he is forced to confront some unfinished business young Maximo left behind.
Season 3 of ACAPULCO debuted on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 on Apple TV+, which released the first two episodes. A new installment dropped weekly on Wednesdays through June 26. It's time to reconcile past mistakes and exciting new beginnings. In the present story, older Maximo finds himself returning to a Las Colinas he no longer recognizes. While in 1985, younger Maximo continues his climb up the ladder of success while potentially jeopardizing all the relationships he's worked so hard to build.
