Plot Synopsis

ALEXA & KATIE is a half-hour comedy series that centers on two best friends eagerly anticipating the start of their freshman year of high school. Despite the fact that Alexa is undergoing cancer treatment, her outgoing personality and enthusiasm for life never falter, especially with her loyal, quirky, and awkwardly adorable best friend Katie by her side. At times they're left feeling like outsiders, during a period when what seems to matter most is fitting in. The series opens with Alexa's plan to hide her cancer from her classmates and start high school like everyone else is totally doable ... until she starts losing her hair. So the girls come up with a colorful solution to keep Alexa's diagnosis under wraps, but Dave's having trouble adjusting to his daughter's new look. But soon there's a rumor going around school that someone in the class has cancer. Katie tries out for the basketball team, and Lori starts working from home. On Friday, March 23, 2018 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Netflix released the entire 13-episode first season of ALEXA & KATIE.

Season 2 of ALEXA & KATIE premiered on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Netflix release the entire 10-episode new season. For best friends Alexa and Katie, sophomore year brings budding romance, a birthday milestone -- and big lessons they'll never forget. Sophomore year's off to a great start until Katie twists her ankle, giving Alexa something else to focus on while she's waiting to hear from her doctor. Katie's thrilled when she's chosen to study acting abroad in London -- but the $2,000 tuition is out of her price range. Time to start doing odd jobs!

Junior year is finally here for Alexa and Katie with new relationships, surprising friendships and big decisions on the horizon. In the season opener, "1st Day of Junior Year," a big fight on the first day of school leaves the girls feeling way out of sync. Lucas starts college, and Lori and Dave toast their 20th anniversary. Then, in "Stupid Binder," Alexa's ready to leave cancer behind her, but it's not that simple. Meanwhile, Katie's trying to balance all the things -- and it's super complicated.

Summer's over, and Alexa and Katie are starting their senior year. They've been through so much together -- but there's still more to come. Season 4 opens with Alexa easing Katie's anxiety with an epic plan to crush senior year. Jennifer starts her new job, and Jack and Lucas help solve each other's problems. And, in the end, the girls are finally graduating from high school and getting ready to leave home for college. But will they stay together or go their separate ways?
