Plot Synopsis
Written and executive produced by Mike O'Brien., A.P. BIO is a half-hour comedy series the centers on disgraced Harvard philosophy scholar Jack Griffin, who, after losing out on his dream job, is forced to return to Toledo, Ohio, and work as a high school Advanced Placement biology teacher. As he comes crashing in to Whitlock High School, Jack makes it absolutely clear he will not be teaching any biology. Realizing he has a room full of honor roll students at his disposal, Jack decides instead to use the kids for his own benefit. Eager to prove that he is still king of the castle, Principal Durbin struggles to control the force of nature that is Jack Griffin. NBC premiered A.P. BIO on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 9:30pm ET/PT, and the network released that episode plus two more installments ("Teacher Jail" and "Burning Miles") the next day -- Friday, February 2 -- across multiple digital platforms, including the NBC App, Hulu and those run by NBC owned-and-affiliated stations. The first of these two digital-premiere episodes ("Teacher Jail") had its linear television debut on Sunday, February 25 at 10:30pm, immediately following the Closing Ceremony of the 2018 Winter Olympics. Later that week -- on Thursday, March 1 -- NBC presented the second digital-premiere episode ("Burning Miles) at 9:30pm and a world-premiere episode ("Overachieving Virgins") at 8:30pm.
Season 2 of A.P. BIO premiered on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 8:30pm ET/PT on NBC. In the season opener, "Happiness," with no archrival to combat, Jack sets his sights on a new mission: write the most brilliant philosophy book ever and get out of Toledo for good. Stef and Mary forget a special day for Michele. Helen forgets to order routine maintenance for the copier causing mass hysteria at Whitlock.
The third season of A.P. BIO debuted on Thursday, September 3, 2020, with Peacock dropping all eight episodes at the same time. Two weeks earlier -- on Tuesday, August 18 -- "A.P Bio: The Podcast" dropped, in preparation for Season 3. This marks the first podcast series for Peacock. Hosts and fellow castmates Eddie Leavy and Sari Arambulo chat with guests, including A.P. BIO series creator Mike O'Brien, stars Glenn Howerton and Patton Oswalt, and additional cast members. The hosts and guests reveal behind-the-scenes anecdotes, audition stories, character evolutions and more.
