Plot Synopsis
Based on the world behind the game League of Legends, ARCANE is an animated series that dives into the delicate balance between the rich city of Piltover and the seedy underbelly of Zaun. Tensions between these city-states boil over with the creation of hextech -- a way for any person to control magical energy -- in Piltover; and in Zaun, a new drug called shimmer transforms humans into monsters. The rivalry between the cities splits families and friends as ARCANE brings life to the relationships that shape some of League of Legends' famous champions including Vi, Jinx, Caitlyn, Jayce and Viktor. The first three episodes of ARCANE dropped on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 10pm ET/7pm PT on Netflix, with three new episodes debuting each Saturday at 3am ET/Midnight PT through November 20.

The second and final season of ARCANE debuted on Saturday, November 9, 2024 on Netflix, which released the first three episodes. Three additional installments debut on the following two Saturdays: November 16 and 23. Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of Season 1 after Jinx launches a stolen Hextech gemstone at the Piltover council. Sisters Jinx and Vi are far from reconciling -- Jinx must now reckon with her reckless decision, which may have jeopardized any possibility for resolution between Piltover and Zaun, as well as the effects it will have on her relationship with Vi. Alliances are forged, allegiances are smashed and fresh dangers emerge as the battle between Piltover and Zaun inspires both glory and heartbreak. In the season opener, "Heavy Is the Crown," Vi and Caitlyn wrestle with how best to respond in the wake of a terrible tragedy that claims lives -- and escalates tensions between the twin cities.
