Plot Synopsis

In BEACHSIDE BRAWL, host Antonia Lofaso challenges the foremost cooks from both coasts in the ultimate battle to determine which coast does summer food best. East Coast chef Tiffani Faison an dWest Coast chef Brooke Williamson lead teams of four cooks in this beachside showdown. Both captains mentor and cook alongside their teams throughout the competition with one goal -- prove that their coast does it best. One team member will be crowned Best of the Beach and win a dream beach getaway worth up to $25,000. Faison leads the team of talented East Coast chefs, including Jared Brown (Long Branch, NJ), Edward Lordman (Pensacola, FL), Ben Porter (Cape Cod, MA), and Jada Vidal (Tampa Bay, FL). Williamson guides the accomplished chefs of the West Coast, including Kaleena Bliss (Seattle, WA), Brian Madayag (Edmonds, WA), Joshua Mazoukes (San Diego, CA), and Jessica Roy (Newport Beach, CA). On the premiere, Antonia challenges the teams to create a menu of boardwalk stand dishes that represents their coast to be served to beachgoers. The menu must include an item on a stick, a fried item, as well as something in a bun, something cheesy, and something sweet. Throughout the six-week competition the teams are tested in summer-themed showdowns from seafood banquets on a budget to tropical destination dinners, and from million-dollar yacht meals to boardwalk bake sales. Joining Antonia each week is a rotating guest judge, including Stephanie Boswell, Noah Cappe, Tim Hollingsworth, Rashida Holmes, Sabin Lomac, Jeremy McBryde, and Ben Robinson to help determine the winner.

The sophomore season of BEACHSIDE BRAWL premiered on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at 10pm ET/PT on Food Network. Host Antonia Lofaso brings the competition to the sand for the ultimate beach bite showdown to determine which coast does summer food best. Leading the teams of five professional cooks are acclaimed East coast chef Eric Adjepong and elite West Coast chef Brian Malarkey. Both captains mentor and cook alongside their teams throughout the competition. Culinary superstars Alex Guarnaschelli and Guy Fieri judge the final round and crown one team member the "Best of the Beach" earning a dream beach getaway worth up to $25,000. East Coast chefs include: Martel Stone, Nick Chavez, Cara Nance, Wesley Nogueira, and Samantha Cruz. West Coast chefs are: Jasmyne Romero-Clark, Amanda Smith, David Lespron, Cesar Oceguera, and Emily Lim. On the premiere, Antonia challenges the teams to create some of the most iconic summer food ever -- pier favorites -- while playing classic boardwalk games like balloon pop and softball toss. But it's not all fun in the sun, as each game reveals a twist including ingredients they must use or avoid using in their final dish. Throughout the seven-week competition, each challenge features the most mouthwatering dishes from the coasts, from fresh west coast fish tacos to buttery east coast lobster rolls, and more. The teams have to prove they are coastal cuisine masters in themed challenges including boardwalk guilty pleasures, grilled feasts, and surf and turf. Joining Antonia each week is a rotating guest judge, including Nate Appleman, Guy Fieri, Alex Guarnaschelli, Stephanie Izard, Troy Johnson, Mei Lin, Jeremy McBryde, Jasmine Roth, Joe Sasto Jet Tila, and Claudette Zepeda. Only one team member will be able to take the heat and win bragging rights and the ultimate beach getaway.
On Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 9-11pm ET/PT, Food Network premiered "Beach Spectacular," the two-hour Season 2 finale of BEACHSIDE BRAWL. Host and judge Antonia Lofaso welcomes the remaining East and West Coast chefs to finally prove they are the best coastal chef in America! Led by their mentors, SoCal restaurateur Brian Malarkey representing the West Coast and mid-Atlantic culinary master Eric Adjepong standing up for the East, the chefs will have to flex their culinary muscles as they're put through a gauntlet of intense summer challenges to impress special guest judges like Guy Fieri and Alex Guarnaschelli. Ultimately, one chef will be left standing to win the ultimate beach vacation worth $25,000, coastal pride and the title of Best of the Beach.
